Atticus Freeland

Atticus Freeland is a green investor, philanthropist, conservationist, and environmental activist. Owner of BMOC Adventures on Lizard Island in the Coral Sea, Atticus works to restore deteriorating coral reefs and bring attention to the devastating effects of climate change. He is the second son of jewelry designer Grace Kimani and Malcolm Freeland, general counsel to global mining equipment manufacturer, Rio Rubor. Atticus gained international notoriety as a teen, when he and his sister were kidnapped in Venezuela.

At 21, he was appointed the youngest director ever at Perron Hotels, owned by Australian businessman Sir Tony Kent. At Perron, he developed the Sustainable Green Footprint model for urban planning. Following Mr. Kent’s death, Atticus ascended to the Chairmanship of Kent Fund Management. Currently, he underwrites Kent Wave Technology. He retired from business and corporate investing at 27.

Aaron Crego

Aaron Crego is a conservationist, investor, and co-founder of BMOC Adventures. Currently, Aaron manages oversight of the Coral Nursery initiatives on Lizard Island and he serves as Team Leader for all reef restoration projects.

Following a fast-tracked education in Palo Alto, he found success in New York at Kemper Fitzpatrick as a senior analyst covering the Airfreight & Surface Transportation sector. Once he and Atticus met, they worked side by side to transform Kent Fund Management into a global leader in modern market platforms and trading technologies. Aaron continues to remain a liaison and relationship manager with many of KFM's key clientele, as well as the Aspen Institute High Seas Initiative and the Sargasso Sea Alliance.

Aaron was raised by his single mom. He is an idealist and romantic to the core. Following an incredible cross-country flight, he spent two years tracking down the woman sitting across the aisle, his soulmate. In a fantastic ceremony steeped in their mutual affinity for nature, they declared their love across the ages. Sadly, they were forced to separate shortly thereafter when she learned her estranged brother was ill.
